This non-fisheye lens has an amazing 121 degree angle of view and is ideal for stunning landscape photography as well as dramatic photography of interior spaces. A standard L-mount is used for this lens, making it compatible with Voigtlander Bessa R & L cameras as well as classic cameras from Leica and Canon with the venerable 39mm screwmount design. If you desire to use this lens with Leica M, Voigtlander Bessa T or Konica Hexar RF cameras, use the adapter ring ( catalog number 45BD205A ). Even when shooting with the aperture wide open, the lens will yield high contrast and excellent resolution. A 9 bladed aperture diaphragm creates very pleasing out-of-focus highlights. All lenses have a click-stops on the aperture movement at half-stop intervals, making subtle adjustments in exposure or depth-of-field easy. The Heliar 12mm has no rangefinder coupling because its extremely wide depth of field does not require it. The lens comes with a bright dedicated viewfinder , featuring a high eye-point design.
