After doing some research I chose the Tamrac Sling Pack over my standard camera bag for a number of reasons. Although I'm an amateur photographer I carry a number of camera and accessories with me when I go out to take photos. The Tamrac 5769 not only carries my camera and lenses, but a small video camera, batteries, chargers, small tripod, and memory cards. The style of this bag makes it very easy to carry and convenient when needing to change lenses, etc. while on the move. Just slide it from back to front. The Sling Pack is also sturdy and well constructed and at the same time light. So far it is serving me well and I'm sure it will last a very long time.

I already had the Velocity 6x and felt very comfortable with it. However I needed much more room when I moved up to a DSLR and three additional lenses. I also needed room for the ever present extra "stuff". I like to carry a Canon IS 3 as a backup camera. This bag has the same lay out as the smaller sizes, the same excellent quality and accommodates my DSLR, my back up camera, all the lenses, extra batteries for both cameras, and the usual "stuff" like a cell phone etc. It is a large bag but not unhandy. It fits comfortably on the back, but also has the carry handle on top for use when you need to move quickly. I would highly recommend it for anyone who likes the concept of a large bag that it easy to handle in the field. The bag also is very useful for day hikes. All the partitions are removable and it will hold a lot of gear and a few water bottles.

This bag is surprisingly big. I can put my Nikon D700 with MB-D10, 70-200 VR, 300 f4, plus a flash or smaller lens inside. The way the bag opens at the very top and toward the body make it so easy to access. The bag is also very comfortable to carry. I actually like to use it like a shoulder bag. I wear it on the right should, left should, cross shoulder from the left, cross shoulder from the right. All work fine for me. The only reason I gave it 4 starts instead of 5 is because I think the material can be better. Though $90 is not considered expensive for camera bags, it's also not cheap either. Eric.
