Unless you’re from Australia where it’s your summer during our winter in some sort of Bizzaro World, then the rainy season is upon us. Rain slickers keep you (mostly) dry from the rain. At the least they keep you less wet than if you had no slicker at all, especially if you have to do anything out in the rain that won’t let you hold an umbrella. They’re fairly universal, so there’s no real difference between men’s rain slickers and women’s rain slickers. Unless there’s a special color or pattern like rainbow unicorns or hot pink, then maybe it sways more to one side than the other. But as far as sizes and uses go, it’s all unisex. Let’s go over some of the different types of rain slickers.
Rain Slickers: These are like giant trench coats. They’re basically one piece with a hood. They’re the same thing that Georgie wore in Stephen King’s IT before getting his arm ripped off by Pennywise. That’s probably a horrible analogy since I doubt you’re picturing a rain slicker now. Never-the-less, these are best in heavy storms that laugh at your puny umbrella before turning it inside out with a strong gust of wind.
Poncho: A poncho is a one piece that slips over your head. It has a hood but no sleeves so if you were looking forward to using your arms and keeping them dry, you’re going to have a difficult decision to make.
Rain Suit: This is a rain jacket/rain pants combo that gives you the most mobility while keeping you the most dry. But you have to be a lot more attentive to sizes since you’re dealing with pants.
