If you plan to attach your 35mm camera to a telescope you will need an adaptor such as this plus a T-ring adaptor that fits your camera lens mount. With our telescope we could not make the variable camera adaptor short enough to focus at infinity-to look at the moon for example. It did however, work very nicely to photograph wildlife as close as 50 feet.

I got this camera adapter to allow me to do eyepiece projection photography. The problem is this thing doesn't do that very well. for starters, if you use the 1.25" barrel adapter, the barrels of your eyepieces hit it, and can't be inserted all the way. luckily I have a 2" t thread adapter that screws in where the 1.25" does (the lower barrel is a 1.25" t thread adaptor that hooks to the main body of this thing), so I was able to work around this... then the second problem hit. This thing is pretty narrow. to use an EP it has to be able to fit inside this thing...all of my higher quality EPs are too fat to fit, so I'm forced to use my cheapies - you know, the kind of junk EPs that come with some scopes, and I have to remove the eyecups from those just to get them to fit. I've tried to use this thing several times, and have not gotten good results with it yet. There are better options than this. I've already ordered a 13mm baader hyperion with the EP projection adapter...if you have the money, this looks like it will be a better solution than trying to fiddle around with this junk.

I purchased this to work with my NIkon D80 with an Orion Astroview 6EQ. It worked fine however i had to use my 2X converter to get in focus, which is not the fault of the product, just the scope i am using. Works great though.
