Something I learned from my experienced of buying battery(ies) from a secondary brand...Busted! They may be cheap, and boy o boy, they are 'cheap' alright. I bought an extra secondary brand battery from an electronic store not so long ago, to replace the old (original) one. But I couldn't get any power into the camera. Only good for a few shots, then the warning sign of battery exhausted appear. Then, I searched internet for the original Nikon Lithium battery, I found one in Amazon/Adorama for &18.90. I ordered right away, and package came 3 days later. Charged it, used it, and it stayed on, and on and on... You got the idea. It works very well! No complain whatsoever with the product nor the service. Great stuff. Thanks Amazon/Adorama.

My daughter has a Coolpix s52, and the original battery works great. Problem is, it lasts so long, it's easy to forget to charge it before heading out for a day of picture-taking, and I certainly don't like charging a half-charged battery. Bought a spare, problem solved. The spare holds a charge well and we swap back and forth when the primary battery poops out. It's true, generic batteries are cheaper, and I wish the Nikon battery wasn't so pricey, but still would buy it every time rather than risk it.
