12x50 Action EX Extreme Waterproof & Fogproof Wide Angle Porro Prism Binocular
A great bang-for-the-buck porro prism binocular, the Action series by Nikon feature knobby rubber armored housings. Their high-refraction prisms feature wide fields of view. The 16x50 Action model has a tripod adapter for easy extended glassing from a stationary position. It is ideally suited to tripod use for fully employing its awesome power, with performence in twilight which is commendable. An ideal binocular for big game hunters.High-powered binoculars are difficult to hold steady by hand; a monopod(and a tripod adapter if not included with the binocular) with an incorporated fluid pan/tilt head or with such a head attached between the monopod and the binocular is highly recommended.

Pros & Cons :in the end, the extra magnification provided little advantage as the image was not any clearer than the 8x40, and the image was much less stable.

Pros & Cons :the nikon brand is what ultimately led me to these, but if you have an opportunity to get another another decent waterproof set for a lot less, i suggest comparing them if you get the chance.

Pros & Cons :brightness was sufficient, as these are not fully multi-coated so i didn't expect them to be tremendously bright, especially at 12x, but they are satisfactory in that regard.
