The Gitzo GT2530LVL tripod is simply the best set of sticks that I have ever owned. I use them with a "Really Right Stuff" BH-40 ballhead and a Nikon D300 with an array of Nikkor glass and I haven't gone wrong yet. Super light weight, but, amazingly strong and the ability to level this tripod on uneven ground is simply the best feature ever. Buy one and you won't be sorry that you did.

Best tripod you can ever get for a light-medium format camera set up, period! Great craftsmanship, ultra light weight design yet supports 26lb of weight. The leveling function build in is great for panorama shots and everything else. If you don't do a lot of panning, you can however get a non-leveling version of GT2530, and later on, buy a Manfrotto 555B aluminum leveling column. This setup however adds a lot of weight and ends up cost more. I've upgraded from a Bogen-Manfrotto 3021BPro, it's a solid performer, but it is just too heavy to carry around. The Gitzo GT2530lvl is a great investment, I know the initial cost sounds like a lot, but it will last you for at least 10 years, and most part on this tripod is replaceable. It's also got a life-time warranty(in USA). There are cheap Chinese knock-offs of Gitzo brand like Giottos and Benro, they might look a lot like a Gitzo but the actual build quality is not even half-way there, so you'll end up buying new tripods every other year.
