I have had these binoculars for about 1 year now, and just love them. I use them on whale-watching boats off the California coast (I go about once-a-month). When water conditions are calm, these take off just enough of the shake from the boat to allow for clear viewing of marine wildlife (including seabirds). When conditions out on the water, are less than optimal, they still allow for enough shake reduction to be able to find whales. The lens clarity is superb in my opinion, I have tested some other name-brand, non-image-stabilized binoculars that cost as much if not more than what you can get here, and I don't see the quality being better.

Simply stated, these are the best binocs I've ever owned. They are simply amazing in their ability to control the shakes. The optics seem to be of the highest quality with no distortions or imperfections or false colorization. The stabilization technology is amazing! I have a significant "essential tremor" which has limited my ability to use binocs. These binocs "cure" that condition! To see things snap to stable and clear upon the click of a button is a wonder to behold!

Standing yesterday at South Point Hawaii, the winds were howling at 50 MPH gusts. While wind, swells and wave action obliterated most detail, pushing the IS button made the image crystal sharp and allowed me to spot a pod of about seven sprinner dolphins and the tail fluke of a humpback. Every friend I hand the glasses to probably results in another Canon sale. This concept is clearly a technological innovation in the binocular world, and the price makes it reasonable for most.
