Certainly sturdy enough but really tight when trying to fit the cord or anything beside thin paper in the case.

This case is exceptionally solid and well built. Considering many generic soft sided laptop cases are now arounf $50, this is also a steal. Inside is nicely padded for laptops. Note that the inner capacity dimensions don't include padding for some reason, so subtract about .25" to .5" from the given values.
