This review will be short and sweet. I used this for one of the first times today at an outdoor swim meet. I was using a Nikon D200 with the 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. I used the same camera/lens last summer, but without the teleconverter. Today, the teleconverter allowed me to get great close up shots of the swimmers. The quality of the pictures was every bit as nice as the pictures I took last summer without the teleconverter. If you've got the right lens and you want more zoom, I highly recommend the TC-20E II teleconverter.

I read the product review that said to be careful because the teleconverter doesn't fit all Nikon lenses and took it to mean that it only fit Nikon lenses with the AF-S mount. Made sense to me - there are other types of lens mounts and this teleconverter doesn't work with them. I didn't think I needed to check the the detailed specs on the Nikon website because I have a D40x that only uses AF-S mount lenses and the teleconverter is for AF-S lenses! Right? I mean, come on, look at the name of the darn thing!! BUT NO! The teleconverter works with some AF-S lenses, not all. Not the AF-S lenses I have. The detailed specifications for this teleconverter need to be listed on the product page! The way it's sold now amounts to false advertising. I'm returning it. One last note, the AF-S lenses that the teleconverter does work with are very expensive - the cheapest being about $1500.

I bought this for my D300 and 70-200 2.8 VR. It works very well. The auto focus and the vibration reduction are not hindered at all by the TC. This increased my range from 300mm to 600mm @ 5.6, all with Nikkor lens, vibration reduction for $430, are you kidding me? If you can find a better Nikkor lens at this focal range with VR for $430 please share it with us. Oh BTW, for the reviewers who bought this TC and found out that it does not work for your lens, please be patience and work on your reading skill.
